Vivario Portuguese Cuisine

Combining Portuguese traditional dishes with Japanese cooking techniques I bring to Kyoto a brand new approach to food, one that elevates celebrated tastes to a higher level. With a friendly and warm enviroment, my new venue welcomes you to savour my delicious menu, made with deep care and love. I knead my Portuguese Broa bread, make my own salty cod Bacalhau and smoke my meat to perfection, using them on several of the dishes, these can only be tasted at Vivario, nowhere else.

My food is designed to match wine, all my bottles are from Portugal and my house wines range between a good dry white for the seafood dishes and a tannin cool red for beans and meat, we serve Heartland Kirin beer and Madeira rum as well. We continue to offer dishes by reservation but unfortunately after Covid hit Japan we no longer offer catering, take out or course menus at our restaurant.
