Preparation for Application for Design Registration
|
|
To file an application for design registration, we must first hear from our client an explanation of the design and the article to which the design is applied. Showing the actual article to which the design is applied, which includes a specimen, photographs, drawings, etc. is helpful.
If you wish to obtain rights for a similar design, plan to improve or alter the design of the same or similar article in the future, or have any other conditions concerning the design to be filed, please feel free to consult us. (For instance, when you have already shown the design in a public exhibition or in some publication or on the internet, when you wish the design to remain unknown to the public even after its registration because certain time is required for its commercialization.) We will consider each matter and select the suitable application method.
After the form of application is decided, we will prepare a formal drawing and application document and file for a design application.
NOTE :A design is registered on the condition that an article can be applied for industrial use (can be mass-produced). A work of art made by single production is not regarded as a subject for design registration under Industrial Property Law. |
