There were many  great slotcar kits. This page introduces them to you.
First, This is "LOTUS 40"by cox.
(by "The Model Speed Life Magazine No.6" in 1966)

The 1/1scale  of "Lotus 40" didn't have a success story. But the 1/24 scale of "Lotus 40"and "Lotus 30" had many success storys.
For example, a TAMIYA's "Lotus 30"and "Lotus 40" were among the best slotcar kits.
By the way, I 've wanted to get a special one before.
This is "COX's kits". COX's kits had  high quality and good reality.
But they were very expensive.
I couldn't buy them.
I liked "Chaparral 2,2D,2E",and
"Lotus 40".
left is the cox's"Lotus 40" kit with motor(mabuchi-motor FT-36D!).
A price was 4,400 yen!(360yen/$)

The new Type 40 Lotus is laid out to be an improved version of the catastrophic Type 30, the first step being the use of the rare and fragile Ford 325 engine.
Lotus-developed brake discs are used with special Girling calipers, and the suspension members are strengthened to match.
Added brake clearance and cooling are made available by an increase in wheel size from 13 to 15 inches. Gears are now by Hewland instead of ZF.
